Patricia Hakong is a UK Chartered Accountant, with extensive experience in finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance in the general insurance and financial services sector. She is currently the Company Secretary and the Head of Finance & Risk Management at the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), with overall responsibility for the work of the Finance, Solvency II, and Regulatory Committees and their related sub-committees and working groups. In addition to dealing with Board matters, Patricia’s main areas of focus are UK and international financial and regulatory requirements for the Lloyd’s market, including Solvency II, risk management, internal audit, syndicate financial and regulatory reporting, loss modelling and capital setting.
Prior to joining the LMA, Patricia was respectively the Head of Market Reporting and Head of Accounting Policy at the Corporation of Lloyd’s. Her primary responsibility as Head of Market Reporting was Lloyd’s statutory reporting in the UK and worldwide, and the monitoring of Lloyd’s solvency. As Head of Accounting Policy, her key responsibilities included formulating and implementing proposals for a move to annual accounting by Lloyd’s syndicates.
Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Patricia was a senior auditor and consultant with a large firm of accountants, specialising in the UK general insurance and financial services sector.
